YOU Can Help Shape Alaska’s Future

Want to know how? Keep reading to learn what a vote for Nick Begich III could do to the future of Alaska.

Meet Nick

Meet Nick Begich III, he's running to represent Alaska in Congress after losing three previous times. He believes that this outsider perspective might help in D.C. After all, Nick knows what Alaskans need is the guidance of Lower-48 extremists to keep our state going. For Nick, the thought of Alaskans leading our state and making decisions for ourselves just doesn't cut it. He's fighting to lend us his guiding hand and ensure we get leadership from people who think they know Alaska better than us Alaskans. To better understand Nick's positions, let's hear from the man himself!

What Does A Vote For Nick Mean?

Nick knows that it’s important to be clear about the issues, and to tell you what he will do if he is elected. Read below and learn more about what Alaska would look like if you vote for Nick.

Ban Reproductive Rights

Alaskans are lucky enough to have the right to choose enshrined in our state constitution. That took a lot of work from generations of women across Alaska. Nick understands this, and is still fully prepared to spend as much time as it takes to enact a federal abortion ban and override our state constitution. Nick knows that there's nothing women love more than a man telling them what they can do with their bodies! That's why he's working tirelessly to take away our personal freedoms and make Alaska the center of the national anti-choice struggle.

Send U.S. Jobs Overseas

Like your job? Nick prefers lining his pockets instead. Nick's company has advocated tirelessly for outsourcing jobs overseas - because there's nothing Nick hates more than American workers having a good-paying job that puts food on the table if that means he scrapes less off the top. Why pay an American worker to do a job when someone overseas can do it cheaper? Why support American workers when those workers get in the way of Nick's company's bottom line? Nick is focused on building stable job opportunities for working families, just not Alaska families.

Sell Out Our Fish

Fish are the bedrock of our Alaska way of life. From providing jobs and economic security to countless fishermen and their families, to the communities that rely on our fisheries to keep food on their table, our fishery health is one of the most important issues in our state. Nick has always had a lackluster understanding of the importance of fish, and he still does! Nick doesn't really know fish, but he does know that saying the right things can get a campaign pretty far. That's why he's been promising the world to countless stakeholders, including Lower-48 trawlers that he thinks should dictate the future of our fisheries. For Nick, words like bycatch and subsistence fishing are just getting in the way of corporate trawler profits. Nick doesn't need to learn about our fisheries because his industrial trawler friends are writing the policies for him.

Cut Social Security

Social Security is the most popular program in the U.S. for a reason. Countless Americans, Alaskans included, rely on the program to stay afloat. Our elders oftentimes can only get by because of the benefits of the system itself, benefits they've worked tirelessly for years to obtain. Ending the program could have determinantal effects for thousands of Alaskans, but that's an acceptable amount of harm for Nick! For him, Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme - and one we need to reconsider. Sure, our grandparents and elders might not be able to survive without their benefits, but who cares? Why keep a widely popular program that benefits thousands when you can just cut it?
